Cairns APGA Convention 2017
The Energy Pipelines CRC was once again well represented at the 2017 APGA Convention and Exhibition. This year the convention and exhibition was held from the 14th – 17th October in Cairns with the event bringing together over 350 members of not only the Australian pipeline industry, but also many delegates from overseas.
Two presentations were given as part of the business sessions based on Energy Pipelines CRC research and activities. Jan Hayes presented on the findings of a study examining personal liability of engineers and the impact on high stakes decision making (RP4-23).
Energy Pipelines CRC CEO David Norman also gave a presentation on the recent achievements of the organisation highlighting that the Energy Pipelines CRC was on track to achieve all its contracted research milestones and its cash and in-kind obligations to the Commonwealth, while also making progress with making submissions and raising awareness for the Future Fuels CRC.
At the trade stand, there was much interest in recent outcomes of Energy Pipelines CRC research as well as the proposed outcomes of the Future Fuels CRC. Thankyou to all those who contributed posters and answered questions at the stand. Every Energy Pipelines CRC research participant had a presence at the event and provided a good opportunity to interact with the broader industry.
The entire team is looking forward to returning to the convention next year in Darwin during September 2017.
