Former Energy Pipelines CRC CEO Appointed as UOW Engineering Dean
Former Energy Pipelines CRC CEO Valerie Linton has been appointed as the next Executive Dean of Engineering and Information Sciences at the University of Wollongong (UOW). Valerie will begin in this position at the start of 2018.
The Energy Pipelines CRC Board congratulated Valerie for this important achievement citing that her tireless dedication to collaboration and reputation as a renowned metallurgist will greatly benefit the already successful UOW Engineering and Information Sciences Faculty.
UOW Vice-Chancellor, Professor Paul Wellings, CBE, said Professor Linton’s research interests and industry experience made her the perfect choice for UOW. “We are delighted to welcome Professor Linton to the role of Executive Dean,” Professor Wellings said.
“The commitment Professor Linton has shown to not only her research but also advancing the place of women in engineering is testament to her passion and suitability for this role.”
Valerie will continue to play a key role in the ongoing project to improve safety and efficiency of CO2 pipelines by developing and validating predictive models for CO2 pipeline design.
